Denim Pocket Banner & Pettiskirt Sale

I was cleaning out and organizing my closet this weekend (I'll have a whole post on that later) and I had a few pairs of jeans that were beyond repair and not even worth donating due to the holes.
I set them aside figuring after a while I would find something to do with them.  Well after finishing my closet I went to work on Felicity's and that's when it hit me that we should use the pockets from my jeans to make something to hold her crayons, stickers and other little things.

I cut the pocket out from the jeans and then on the back of the pocket I cut a slit in each side of the pocket.

Then we threaded the ribbon through the cut slits (we started out using lace, but then later switched to animal print ribbon)

We did this on several pockets until we had enough to make her banner the size we wanted and we hung it up in her closet by just tying the ends of the ribbon to something on each side of the closet.
I was so pumped up about this that I went through my husband's jeans and found a bunch he didn't want and I have plans to make several different things out of them so check back to see what we do!

Saturday Home Showcase - Out of Alabaster

Today for my Saturday Home Showcase I am so excited to be able to feature one of my absolute favorite homes I have ever seen!  This home belongs to Lindsey, the writter of the blog, "Out of Alabaster" - you can visit her blog to read about the stories behind creating this wonderful home.

Out of Alabaster

Check out her master bedroom!

The second I saw this I fell in love, the walls are certainly my favorite part!

I love how there's something interesting around every corner of this lovely home....  Also love the contrast in so many of the textures and styles.

Now for the kitchen......

Lindsey has paid so much attention to every detail in this home.

Love the little banner.

Gorgeous dinning room - check out that rug, I so want that for my living room!

Love that she was able to find a way to turn an eye soar into a unique part of the decor.

I admire how Lindsey says she tries to make her home fun and not take the decor too serious.  She is creating a nurturing, creative environment for her little girl to grow up in.....

If I knew how to find her home and had the ability to carry over 500 pounds I would so sneak in and steal this old library card catalog - this is in her guest room / creating space.

Her daughter's room....

They really transformed the outside of the house too....

Lindsey also has a wonderful Etsy shop where she does Custom silhouette portraits.  Click on the image below to go visit her shop.

Food Friday - Easy Strawberry Cheesecake

My husband loves Cheesecake so for Valentine's Day I wanted to have strawberry cheesecake for him when he got home from work.   I have used a couple different recipes for cheesecake and didn't totally love either of them.  So this time I changed it up a bit and kind of combined the two recipes and we loved the results.

{ INGREDIENTS }
Store Bought Graham Cracker Crust (yes, I cheat & use store bought crust!)
Cream Cheese - 1 package
Sour Cream - 1 small container
Vanilla Extract - 1/2 Tablespoon
 Whipped Cream - 4 Ounces (buy the 8 oz container and use half - if you want it really big and fluffy use the whole thing)
1/4 Cup of Sugar

Strawberry Pie Filling - 1 Jar
Have you noticed I really love my Fiestaware - think this is my 3rd post in the last couple weeks that has included it...

{ DIRECTIONS }
Blend softened Cream Cheese & Sugar.  Then blend in Sour Cream & Vanilla Extract.  Then Fold in Whipped Cream.  Spread into crust and put in refrigerator until set.  Serve with Strawberry Pie Filling on top.

Also had to share this in case there's anyone out there that hasn't seen it yet- this is so me anytime I try to put icing on anything!

Giant Flowers & Giveaway Winner

Tell me these GIANT paper roses are not awesome!
This came from GreenWeddingShoes.com and you can click on either one of these images to go to their tutorial on how to make these...  I have been tossing around the idea of doing an Alice in Wonderland themed party for Felicity's 2nd birthday in May and I think it would totally go with the "wonderland" theme to have a bunch of thesewhimsical over-sized flowers in vases and maybe even sticking up out of the cake?
